Street Photography

People, cafes, vendors, street merchants, buskers, historic buildings, art installations and much more. The power of observation underpins the art of great street photography. Learning to "see" interesting detail is a practised skill and we introduce you to easy methods that will open your photographer's eye and expose you to a world that is alive with detail. The most rewarding part of the class is learning how to approach interesting people and have them willingly pose for you.
We will also go over settings, focusing techniques and lens choices common to street photography to help us capture those random chance encounters.
Portraits for Beginner's Class

This class goes over some basic dos and don'ts for posing and looks at issues to do with shooting in daylight for the best results. Included are: shooting different body types, men, women and shooting with strong sunlight and shooting in shade, and designing your background (composition). On this class you are encouraged to bring along family or friends as models.
This is the perfect meetup to learn how to take the perfect portraits of family and friends.
Photographing Reflections

We will be using natural water reflections and seeking out man-made reflective surfaces in the area to explore how we can use reflections to add depth and intrigue to our images. Reflections can help us to show our subject from an unusual, or from multiple, points of view. We can use reflections to abstract our subject or to make perfect mirror images. We'll even have a look at how we can create our own reflections when there are none around.
Shooting in Manual Mode Class

This class is for anyone looking to switch their camera mode from Auto to Manual and learn how to shoot using the Manual Mode. The goal is to help everyone become more confident when using their camera settings. We will touch on essential camera functions and the exposure triangle: Shutter Speed, Aperture, and ISO.
