Nature Photography Meetup

Nature Photography Meetup

Saturday 04 January
Hillhurst Neighbourhood - 11am - 2 Hours
William Chornobrywy
Join this session for tips on how to use your camera settings to creatively capture nature in a visually interesting way. We will be looking at composition, focus, and colour.

Many professional offices and places of business have large prints gracing their wall space of things such as fields of flowers, a butterfly perched on a leaf, and a single dew drop on a rose petal. These beautiful images are all around us in nature. It just takes that special "eye" to not only see it but to capture it in a way that will turn that simple little piece of nature into a beautiful piece of art. We will learn how to use different angles, light and shadows, and settings to make subjects pop.

Overall, the street photography class was a thoroughly enjoyable and informative experience. The small group size, knowledgeable instructor, and hands-on approach made it a worthwhile investment. I would recommend this class to anyone interested in exploring the exciting world of street photography.

Meet Will, a 21-year-old photographer who discovered his passion for capturing moments on camera at a young age. After completing high school, he decided to pursue his passion and enrolled in a photography school to gain the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the industry. During his time there, Will developed a love for both creative and product photography and was able to refine his techniques under the guidance of experienced instructors.

Will quickly found a niche in product photography and discovered his talent for creating visually appealing images that showcase the unique features of each product. He learned how to play with lighting and angles to bring out the best in each product, making it stand out from the rest. In addition to product photography, Will also developed his skills in creative photography, experimenting with different concepts and styles to create visually stunning images that capture the essence of his subjects. With his education and passion for photography, Will is ready to take on the world of photography and make a name for himself in the industry.

Title or Location: East Calgary (Around Sunalta LRT Station)
This photo was captured on the evening of the 17th of September, 2024, over the LRT tracks on the east side of Calgary, during a full moon. It was shot using my DJI Mini 4 Pro, with ISO 400, 6mm, f/1.7, and 1/15 sec settings. After finishing a hyperlapse sequence, I was struck by the scene?s Gotham-like, Dark Knight atmosphere, so I decided to edit the image with that mood in mind, while still preserving the sunset's glow, which initially drew me to the location. As much as I love using my Canon

I headed to Nosehill early in the morning to photograph a certain comet. It was windy that day, my hands were freezing, and I was just trying to make sure the photos didn't blur.I often go to that hill to take pictures, and it's always a lot of fun because it always shows a different side.

This bird is extremely photogenic and looks like a painting, the feathers are so fine the photos of them appear to be over edited but all I do is maybe crop and lightning.I always shoot in Raw info here Canon 7D 400mm f5.6 1/250, ISO500
