Nature Photography Meetup

Saturday 17 August
Hillhurst Neighbourhood - 9am - 2 Hours
William Chornobrywy
Join this session for tips on how to use your camera settings to creatively capture nature in a visually interesting way. We will be looking at composition, focus, and colour.

Many professional offices and places of business have large prints gracing their wall space of things such as fields of flowers, a butterfly perched on a leaf, and a single dew drop on a rose petal. These beautiful images are all around us in nature. It just takes that special "eye" to not only see it but to capture it in a way that will turn that simple little piece of nature into a beautiful piece of art. We will learn how to use different angles, light and shadows, and settings to make subjects pop.

In addition to product photography, Will also developed his skills in creative photography, experimenting with different concepts and styles to create visually stunning images that capture the essence of his subjects. With his education and passion for photography, Will is ready to take on the world of photography and make a name for himself in the industry.

On January 27, 2024 I took this photo of the Common Merganser, female when she was going to fly off the lagoon when she changed her mind and decided to make sure her girlfriend was safe while she rested/slept on the ice near the water in the this photo. I love how they protect everyone close to them from predators or danger. This chic was a great model for me as she swam in a couple of circles, did a couple of dives into the water to fish, unsuccessfully, then went on the ice besides her girlf

Certainly, here's a more straightforward description focusing on the evening and the scene:Taken from the Centre Street Bridge at dusk, this photograph captures the serene beauty of Calgary's skyline as the sun dips below the horizon. After a day spent exploring potential new homes in the city, I ventured out to witness the transition from day to night. The Calgary Tower, an iconic landmark, stands prominently against the backdrop of the evening sky, illuminated by the warm hues of the set

While visiting Cannon Beach, Oregon for Spring Break this year, we were treated to beautiful blue skies, warm weather, stars AND airglow at night! I was absolutely giddy about seeing those stars! Now I hope you all know how extremely rare this combination is on the pacific coast in spring. It's normally overcast and raining and definitely no stars to be seen. Thank you universe for allowing your magic to flow this evening. I truly appreciate you and your powers ??

Decided to make a composite that resembles the photo that NASA took with their millions of dolllar photo equipment. 2 months ago I photographed the full moon and placed it on top of the most recent solar eclipse photo I took. The moon normally get its light from the sun so getting the perspective with moon visibility is impossible during an eclipse unless you have nasa gear. My photo was taken with a canon R5, RF400mm F2.8 and cropped in.
